Snap Originals - Brand Identity
Snap collaborated with Zoar to develop an identity for their new brand Snap Originals.
Snap Originals was created to feature premium shows that users can watch right in the Snapchat app. The films are all shot vertically, tailored for vertical viewing and feature show-specific AR interactivity.
Zoar was asked to develop the visual identity that connects Snapchat Shows to each other and the Snapchat brand in a fresh, creative way. It also needed to differ Snap Original shows from other content on the discover page.
We created a logo that emphasizes a new way of experiencing storytelling. The vertical frame is being projected to imply that the show content is “bigger” than the mobile device that is housing the shows. Created for a mobile experience, the identity system is built to move and is versatile as the brand itself. It not only houses the content but reflects its spirit, energy and heightened perspective.
